1. Are the sessions individual or group sessions?

All Prestige Academy sessions are individual, one-to-one sessions.

Each student receives focused support based on their current schoolwork, academic needs, strengths and areas requiring improvement. They are not placed into a group or expected to follow a general program designed for students with different needs.

2. Who is Prestige Academy suitable for?

Prestige Academy supports students who would benefit from structured, individual academic support.

Some students require help addressing gaps in their knowledge or improving disappointing assessment results. Others are already performing well but need greater challenge, stronger assessment preparation or more advanced support.

Because every student’s circumstances are different, each application is considered carefully to determine whether Prestige Academy’s approach and currently available services are suitable for them.

3. How often are sessions held and how are session times allocated?

Most students attend one individual session each week at a regular reserved time.

During the interview, families are shown the session times currently available and asked to indicate every time their teenager could regularly attend.

If the application is successful, Prestige Academy reviews the family’s selected times against the existing timetable and will generally offer up to three suitable options from those selected. The family then chooses one appointment, which becomes the student’s regular weekly session time for the 11-session enrolment block.

Providing several genuine availability options increases the likelihood that a suitable time can be offered.

4. Are sessions available in person or online?

Prestige Academy offers individual sessions in person at Bondi Junction, online, or through a combination of both.

The most appropriate arrangement is discussed during the application process and may depend on the student’s needs, location and the session times currently available.

5. How do you determine what my teenager needs?

Prestige Academy does not begin by assuming that every student needs the same program, more worksheets or a general explanation of an entire topic.

Drawing on more than 20 years of experience working with teenagers, we take time to understand the student’s previous performance, current school requirements, existing knowledge and the areas in which their performance is breaking down.

The purpose is to identify what the student already understands, what may be preventing stronger performance and what should be addressed first.

This reduces unnecessary repetition and allows support to be directed towards the student’s actual needs rather than only the most obvious symptom of the problem.

6. Do you offer specialist English tutoring?

Yes. Prestige Academy has a dedicated English partner who teaches English exclusively year 7 to year 12.

Students receive individual support with essay writing, textual analysis, structure, use of evidence and preparation for school assessments and examinations.

This specialist support has produced substantial improvement.

Results vary according to each student’s starting point, participation and completion of the recommended work.

7. Will my teenager receive work between sessions?

Students may receive targeted work to complete between sessions when it will help strengthen their understanding, prepare for an assessment or develop a particular academic skill.

The work is selected for a clear purpose. It is not simply additional homework or generic worksheets given to keep the student occupied.

Completing the agreed work between sessions is often an important part of consolidating what has been taught and making the best use of the next individual session.

8. What makes Prestige Academy different from conventional tutoring?

Prestige Academy combines individual teaching with an in-depth analysis of each student’s academic needs.

With more than 20 years of experience working with teenagers, together with HSC marking experience, Prestige Academy brings an informed understanding of how school assessments are structured, what markers are looking for and why capable students may still underperform.

Many students do not need someone simply to repeat the same classroom content. They may know some of the facts but struggle to understand how ideas connect, recognise what a question requires or apply their knowledge effectively under assessment conditions.

We first identify what the student already understands, where their performance is breaking down and what needs to change. This allows teaching to be directed towards the areas most likely to make a meaningful difference.

Students are also supported by carefully developed, high-quality resources selected according to their subject, year level, current understanding and assessment requirements. Genuine gaps are addressed, while valuable session time is not wasted repeatedly covering material the student has already mastered.

The result is a structured and highly individual service informed by extensive experience—not a standard tutoring program delivered in the same way to every student.

9. Is Prestige Academy only for students who are struggling?

No. Prestige Academy works with students at different academic levels.

Some students need help rebuilding their understanding, correcting ineffective approaches or improving disappointing results. Other students are already achieving sound or strong results but want to deepen their understanding, work at a more advanced level or prepare more effectively for assessments and examinations.

The important consideration is whether the student is willing to participate consistently, respond to individual guidance and make use of the support provided.

10. How does my teenager apply for a place?

Families may begin by completing the online assessment or contacting Prestige Academy for a brief introductory conversation.

Suitable applicants are then invited to attend a selective interview. The interview allows us to learn more about the student, discuss their academic history and needs, explain how the service operates and consider whether Prestige Academy is the right fit.

Following the interview, the application is reviewed. If the student is accepted and a suitable session time is available, the family will receive the proposed session arrangements, enrolment information and next steps.

Completing the online assessment or attending an interview does not automatically guarantee that a place will be offered.
