Prestige Academy provides Years 7–10 Science support for students whose results are inconsistent, below what their ability suggests, or who require targeted assistance with a particular topic or school assessment.
Before determining whether the program is suitable, we examine the student’s current understanding, recent schoolwork and assessment requirements to identify where their Science performance is breaking down.
Where the student’s needs and school program align with our current specialist resources, support may focus on conceptual understanding, scientific reasoning, practical investigations, data analysis, written responses and assessment preparation.
Establishing the Starting Point
We examine the student’s recent Science results, relevant schoolwork and current understanding to establish what they already know and where their performance is breaking down.
This also helps determine whether the student’s needs align with the areas and specialist resources currently available.

Where the program is suitable, support is structured around the student’s school sequence, upcoming assessments and the areas requiring attention first.

Understand the Science
Students need to understand how scientific ideas connect and how models, evidence and investigations explain observable phenomena. Memorising facts is not enough when the student cannot describe what is occurring or explain why.
Apply the Science
School assessments require students to apply scientific concepts in unfamiliar contexts, interpret diagrams and data, and connect evidence with appropriate conclusions rather than rely only on memorised examples.
Demonstrate the Science
Marks can be lost through imprecise terminology, weak interpretation of evidence, incomplete explanations or responses that do not address the question at the required depth. Students learn to communicate scientific understanding accurately and clearly.
